These paintings are in oils on canvas. The palette is limited to three colours and white. The primer is white so that as much light as possible will permeate the separately made transparent glazes of colour. The transparent medium is quick- drying but even so the building-up of a large painting is extremely time-consuming so I have several paintings in progress at any one time.
